Pirgi, 1200 kişilik az nüfusunua rağmen; Sakız adasının Mastichochoria bölgesinin (adanın güneyi, sakız hammaddesinin ağırlıkla üretildiği bölge) en büyük köyüdür. Köy evleri yukarıda çektğim fotoğrafta görüldüğü gibi, otantik ksista (xysta) yöntemi ile süslendiğinden, Pirgi köyü adaya gelen turistlerin yoğun ilgisini çekmektedir.

Pirgí is the largest of the villages in Mastichochoria (southern part of Chios where the mastic is produced), and its populations is little short of 1200. The village is a major touristic attraction of the island because of the particular geometric decoration called "xysta (ksista)" on the buildings which you can see in photo above.
